Since 1996 Tropical Acres’ employees have partnered with The Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Founded in 1983, the Center’s mission is to promote the optimal health and well-being of children with special healthcare needs. They do this by providing prevention, intervention and treatment services within a medical home environment.
Year after year our employees have made The Center their Christmas project. Many years ago, our matriarch, Mrs. S (Ceil Studiale), suggested to our employees that instead of buying gifts for us, they put their hard-earned money towards those less fortunate; this is how our relationship with this wonderful Center evolved. Our employees start early in December collecting toys, food and cash, and it has become a very rewarding effort by all. Throughout the year, we contribute to their fund raisers and donate hundreds of pounds of fresh ground beef to supplement their food pantry.
